Stopping work....

When did you or when are you planning on stopping work before the baby is born?

I'm due February 9th, I'm planning on my last day of work to be Jan 30th.

If all goes well, I plan to stop working the beginning of April. I am due April 30th.

I'm going to work as long as I can. Yesterday my manager spoke to me about working from home a little bit (like once a week) since the commute is now killing me. After the New Year, I will probably work from home 1-2 days a week..

I had planned on stopping the week before I was due (this week) but a few weeks ago there was fifths disease at my school and I had to leave for 2 weeks so I started my maternity leave then. When all is said and done I will have stopped 4 weeks before this baby was born. Although it has been very relaxing, I don't think I would stop this early again unless I had to. I have had way too much time on my hands to think about things!

im not planning yet, im goign to take it one week at a time. I hope to work until the end so i can save my vacation time for after the baby is born. But if im having a hard time, ill pull out when i need to.

I can go out 2 weeks before my due date, or use my 12 weeks paid disability to go out now if I want. The 4 months mat leave starts on the day of baby's birth.

I'm due April 29th and plan to work up until my due date. If I'm late I'll probably start my leave May 1.

I stopped working on 12/17 (last year) DS was born on 12/20 --but I went to the dr on 12/18 and we decided to do a c/s if I was just going to be waiting until he arrived..I probably would have worked until he came!

With DS#1 I was going to work until 39 weeks but I worked up until Friday of my 37th week and had DS on Sauturday (the next day).

With DS#2 I worked up until January 4th 2008 but was planning on working up until February 15 - DS was due on Feb 21 but, I was out on disablility because I had a long commute and terribel back pain.

I would suggest that if you can take two weeks before hand to get some "you" time and to get things settled. I really think that it would do you a lot of good.

I'm due Feb 13 and hope to be out the 2nd weekend in Jan. The commute is killing me already.

I plan on working until a week before my due date because I am due 2/22 and the week before is winter break anyway (I'm a teacher) so it's works out. I was just wondering what everyone else was planning on doing, some people have been telling me to try to stop 2 weeks before due to the winter weather and preparation.

I had planned to work until the end, but decided last minute not to go back after Thanksgiving. So technically I stopped working 1 week before my due date. I just hope doesn't decide to come late!

I pay a lot of money for private disability insurance so I am taking advantage of that. Plus all my school district needs to put me on disability is a note from my doc.

He put me out a month before my due date- Jan. 9th is my last day and I due Feb. 12.

I work as a high school guidance counselor with a caseload of 600 kids. Its been REALLY hard this year.

With DS, I stopped work on a Friday and had him via scheduled c the following Wednesday.

With this one, my due date is May 2nd and I'm hoping to work up until April 30th.

I had planned on working up until the end (I'm due on Christmas), but I was placed on bedrest last Tuesday.

Well, I got laid off when I was 9 weeks preggo..not because of it..my boss didn't even know at the time. I worked in real estate/new construction, and they lost their funding...thanks to the state of our economy.

Then I was placed on bedrest @ 16 weeks.

I am now 31 weeks and finally allowed off bedrest, but don't see the point in going back to work now..no one will hire me anyway if they know I have to go on maternity leave in a month or two.

So I have had a very long break to rest up for motherhood.

I'm due begining of April - so I am taking my last 2 weeks of vac at the end of March and then ML will kick in- I get 12 weeks- plus our new vac starts in June so I can add some of that on as well
