Storylines in books/movies
I read a lot of books (novels) and I feel like in each one there is always at least one character whose backstory includes regret that they never had kids. It's never a big part, but it still upsets me when I read about the detail of how they always wanted children but it just wasn't in the cards. I know I haven't been trying for that long (5 months), but I'm an overthinker so I definitely have a fear that it won't happen.
I went to see Into the Woods and I almost started crying a few times with the whole childless baker storyline. I don't know if I'm venting or looking to see if its common to be overly sensitive to this stuff. I know that just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it never will, but its hard to keep my emotions in check sometimes.

I think whenever you're going through something major in life, you start seeing it everywhere. It's normal. But try not to let it get you down. I can tell you I have known many many people who had infertility issues, and every one of them has eventually become a mother. There are so many advances in the infertility treatments these days, there is so much they can do. It might take some time, but I'm sure it will happen for you. GL!

You are hyper sensitive because you are in the middle of it. It took my 2 years to get PG with my DS and I am just under 3 years for trying for a 2nd. All I can tell you is to try not to get too crazy about TTC and letting it take over your life. The 2 years we were TTC almost broke us and looking back the stress was just not worth it. Yes my DS was absolutly worth it but the stress I put on us and our relationship was not.

the way science is today its fairly rare that someone can't ever have children. with enough science, money and perseverance most women do end up having children. some have a longer road than others and require medical intervention, but in the end most do become moms. so being that you've been at it a very short time, i wouldn't be consumed by it. that just wont help anything.
check out the IF board here and follow some history. theres only a handful of people who truly exhaust all resources and move on without being able to have a baby in one way or another.

Thanks for the support. I know I'm not being rational, but its so hard not to stress it. It definitely helps to come on these boards and hear from other people who are in the same boat (or have been).

I had those fears too, actually last year this time I was basically tipsy all the time... After almost a full year of TTC, 2 losses, and tons of stress and tears (and lots of wine), I'm writing this whole holding my 8 week old son. It will happen!!!!
