straightening iron rec's needed

I have been going to the salon and spending $20- 30 dollars for my hair to be straightened for special occasions

I'd like to do it myself and start straightening it for work in the fall

What a good quality (but not too expensive ) straightening iron that I can buy that will work on my thick coarse hair??

Thanks

Re: straightening iron rec's needed

I know it's expensive ($200) but I highly recommend the T3 wet/dry flat iron Wet/Dry Iron

I have REALLY curly hair and have never been able to get my hair as straight and shiny as I have with this iron, even when my hair is soaking wet. Also, I never get that "burnt hair" smell when I use it.

Like I said, I know it's expensive, but you'll have paid for it within 10 weeks of not going to get your hair straightened at the salon Chat Icon

The woman who cuts my hair uses one by Babyliss (I think that's how you spell it). She said you can find it at Essentials in the Roosevelt Field Mall for about $35. My hair is so straight when she uses it - it's amazing!!

Re: straightening iron rec's needed

i still use my old hot tools iron
I got the chi a couple of months and returned it because it did nothing different than the hot tools
ps my sister has been through two chi irons already because they died
a girl with VERY curly hair uses the babyliss and her hair comes out great

I returned a CHI too because I didn't think it did anything that my $24 Remington iron did Chat Icon and because it didn't lock closed which I feel is a requirement based on what I do with my iron when I'm done.
