Strange basic AF and ovulation question.

Okay I have two kiddies and I KNOW I KNOW the answer to this question but just looking for some confirmation

DS is one and I have not had AF back since having him. He is EBF even though we have started solids. He does feed during the night especially when he is teething.

I would like to start trying for #3 in the coming months but I would need to have AF back before that could happen right ie. I would need to be ovulating which I obvioulsy am not right now otherwise I would be getting AF right?

AF basics 101 I know but still asking

Well yes you need AF to ovulate, but you would ovulate the first time before you got AF. So let's say AF was coming the end of August, you could be Oing now even though you didn't get her in July. Does that make sense?

I guess I will see if DS will start to wean and hopefully that will bring AF back and I can start to TTC # 3.
