Strange comment from daycare employee... (Vent about choosing to have only one child.)
We have a computerized check-in system. As Jim was taking AJ to her room I was signing her in. Click Click then I hear “So are you ready for Number 2?”
I looked around and realized she’s talking to me. This is the Asst Director. So I said “excuse me?” and she repeats it “Are you ready for Number 2?”
So now I’m thinking “Do I look chubby today or something?” what the heck!?
I said “NOoooooooooo One and done thank you” and she looked at me like sure sure lady you say that now. But she says “oh but isn’t it time for number 2?”
Excuse me? Are you kidding me? What in gods name gives her the right to just assume I need to have a second child and that now is the ‘time’ for it?
Strange. I just laughed and said one was more than enough and walked away.
I get it that my theory of one and done right now may be for today and who knows it may change tomorrow. But its almost as if people just assume you must have a second child. I am beginning to find it just a tad bit annoying. I was taken by surprise that my daycare asst director said it cause I figured that was the one place I was ‘safe’.
on a side note.. i've lost weight dang it... I asked Jim later "do I look preggo again" he was like what? no, why would you say that? Told him what happened and thank GOD for Jim he says ... "Number 2, like in a poo? Why would she ask you if you needed to go poo?" hahahaha.. I love this man!

When you are dating, people ask "SO when are you getting engaged???"
SO you get engaged... then its "SO, whens the wedding?"
You get married
Then its 'SO when are you going to have a baby????"
You have the baby.
Then its "Time for another???"
You get where I am going with this.
I have 2 boys, so when I got PG the 3rd time, it was "Going for the girl huh?" um, no, just want another baby. Not really caring if its a boy or a girl.
# 3 was a girl.
Now its "She NEEDS a sister!". Nope. Done. Closed up shop.
People have nerve. Period.

ok, honestly, this comment wouldn't bother me.
1. asking are you ready for #2 in no means is implying you looked preggos. Its a question a LOT of people ask. Don't take it that way
2. like the previous post said, it follows the sequence.
Just laugh it off and say "1 is enough for me right now, thanks" and move on.

People should mind their business! Even worse is when people say that kind of stuff to you and you are trying but having trouble. My nanny used to tell me constantly the DS NEEDS sibling (but she also knew I had 3 MCs in 6 mos so she was particularly insensitive )

I get asked on an almost daily basis when I'm having number three. One father even told me to have an ooops when I said DH was sure we are done and I'm like 98% sure. I just smile and try to ignore it now.

People need to mind their own business.
I have & and get asked when I will give a sister Um, since when can you decide it will be a "sister" If I say one and one and done I get the we'll see look.
Eh, really society needs to shut its collective mouth

I hear ya, we are probably one and done too. It doesnt bother me when people ask if Im ready for #2, what does bother me, is when I tell them that we are most likely done and they go on to guilt trip me about "how I could do that to my DS, make him an only child" etc.

That is hilarious! If anyone says that again, I think you should say the same thing he did and throw them off!
People kept asking me when number 2 was coming also, but now that DS is over 2 years, it's strange, no one asks anymore! Maybe I missed the deadline.

She was being very rude IMO.
Maybe she was just trying to drum up more business?
