Strawberry Jello Pretzle Salad
My cousin made this recipe last weekend. It sounds sooo weird but is surprisingly delicious. She served it as a side dish with dinner but I think it would be better served as a dessert.
STRAWBERRY JELLO PRETZEL SALAD
2 c. crushed unsalted thin pretzels 3 tbsp. sugar 3/4 c. melted butter 1 (8 oz.) pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese 1 c. sugar 1 sm. pkg. Cool Whip 1 lg. pkg. strawberry Jello 2 c. boiling water 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries 1 sm. can crushed pineapple
Mix pretzels, 3 tablespoons sugar and butter. Spread mixture over bottom of baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 7 minutes. Let cool 1 hour. Blend cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and Cool Whip and spread over pretzel mixture. Dissolve strawberry Jello in 2 cups boiling water. Add frozen strawberries and pineapple. Chill until partially jelled. Then pour over the cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate. Use a 9x13 inch pan or baking dish.

Re: Strawberry Jello Pretzle Salad
We always have this at Easter, communions any spring party. It's delish. We usually have it out on a buffett, so people eat it as a side or dessert.

Re: Strawberry Jello Pretzle Salad
My neighbor makes this and is usually a pretty big hit. SHe omits the fruit in the jello though.
