Stray Cat

I previously posted that I saw a cat at my backdoor. It looks like a siamese cat, so maybe it does belong to someoneChat Icon
It had no collar or anything.
What if it keeps coming back, how do I know if it's someone's cat or not?
The weather is kinda nice now, but it IS winter. I dont want this poor kitty to freeze outside.
I would totally consider taking him in if he had no home but how do I know for sure?
Is it even safe to take in a stray?

Re: Stray Cat

I think it would be safe as long as you took the cat to the vet to check for disease/parasites. You have a dog? You would have to see if they would get along.

ditto

see if you can get up close with it--like if its friendly and lets you pet it. if it comes to you easily....and you get to pet it---chances are that its probably not a feral cat. usually they are very skiddish around people--meaning it might be someone's cat.

you can always take it in if you think it might be getting cold out---and take a pic and post flyers around the neighborhood. it could be an indoor/outdoor cat and he spends his days outside around the neighborhood---or just an outdoor cat. (i'm not a fan of cats that are always outdoors--it gets cold out there!)

Re: Stray Cat

its tough bc there is no collar so you cant really tell if it has a home. Tough call. If it keeps coming back and you decide to take it in maybe it will act a little strange if it has an actual home, like try to get out and run off or something?

I dont know. Tough call

Take it to your vet and see if there is a microchip.

A free Siamese!! IF it doesn't belong to anyone, def keep it or try to find the cat a home.

BTW- I have a Siamese cat and they are just like dogs.
