Stray Cat help
My neighbor has been feeding a stray cat for a few weeks. A few days ago the cat started sleeping on our steps off and on. We'd love to help her and have her spay but not sure if we can afford the cost. How much is the avg cost? We are on the fence about keeping her...torn.

Re: Stray Cat help
Maybe you can look into the ASPCA or Mobile Vet Unit? I know they do low cost spay/neuter for dogs, I'm sure they'd do it for cats, too. I think my pit bull was $50.

Stray Cat help
Just did. Was referred to one in farmingdale. Was also told if I can bring her in to the vet in a trap they would spay her for free, flea, rabies at no charge. So going to see what the traps cost. She's such a sweet girl.

That's nice of you.
When I did it, I contacted Save a Pet and they loaned me a trap to borrow to trap and neuter.

Stray Cat help
We had a feral cat colony when we moved into our new house. All About Spay/Neuter Inc. was a lifesaver. They came out and trapped the cats, spayed or neutered them and released them back. It wasn't that expensive at all. I would give them a call or check out their website. (516) 799-CATS(2287)

Re: Stray Cat help
I just had my cats spayed & neutered at Long Island cats & kitten shelter (LICKS ) In Freeport. It was $85 for Distemper vaccine, rabies shot, spay/ neuter & nail trim. They were really nice. It's done in a small trailer behind All about cats in Freeport.

You can also look up Muffins Certificates to see if your vet takes them.
