Streaming Netflix

We just connected Apple TV and were so exicted to instantly stream Netflix to out TV but, I'm really disappointed. It seems as if they dont offer "new releases" if you stream. Does anyone else notice this?

Re: Streaming Netflix

Yep, its not that wonderful of a selection. I've tried to take advantage of the selection they do have, I'm currently making my way through the first few seasons of Friday Night Lights.

Re: Streaming Netflix

Yeah, the streaming netflix isn't as good as getting the DVDs.

Supposedly they're improving the selection; at least that was the reason they gave for raising the price by a dollar a month.

Hmph, they better get on it. The choices for movies to stream are few and far between. If you have Starz on Demand, I wouldn't even bother with Netflix. Half the movies on there are also on Starz.

Re: Streaming Netflix

Yeah, the selection is limited at best. Kind of annoying but I don't watch that many movies so I just sort of deal with it.

I actually just joined a week ago and was so disappointed in the selection of new releases. I have been taking advantage of the TV series that they have, especially the Showtime series because we don't carry Showtime on our cable anymore.

Re: Streaming Netflix

I like it for the TV shows. I am working my way back through Grey's Anatomy. I have rewatched all of the Office. I am watching Mercy and plan to start Damages next.

DH and I are now hooked on Showtime's Dexter!!! They had Seasons 1 and 2 on there, but now we have to wait for the DVDs of the other seasons Chat Icon

It's also good for old movies. This weekend we watched "Risky Business"!

Re: Streaming Netflix

DH and I make a good queue of new movies that we have delivered to the house. In between, we use the streaming to watch old movies that we want to see again. Or streaming is really good for the kids. DS loves a lot of the kids stuff they have on there.

I love the streaming b/c we watch a lot of classics and documentaries through it. We also put movies on there that we're not sure we're going to like, so if we shut it off, no biggie. It's not like we have to wait 3 days for a new movie.

Re: Streaming Netflix

If you have a computer or Ipad, the selections are sometimes newer..you can start it on one of those and then continue on your Apple TV...works here...

yep. we do the one where we get it thru our wii or blue ray and then 1 dvd and the choices are ahh but we don't have any of the premium moive channels like hbo or showtime. I feel like its all the movies that would be on there, so for the price you can't go wrong.

We like streaming the tv shows. We watched the first five seasons of weeds since we don't have hbo. We also watch a lot of the documentaries, which are good. Between that and one movie at a time in the mail I think it's well worth it. For movies, I have an easier time searching online and adding to my instant queue than searching while I'm on the wii. I feel like I see a lot more online.
