stress and pregnancy
sorry if this has been asked before,to be honest i am just a bit nervous
past few days have just been rocky...major family drama and i have been super upset and have not slept in days
i am very very emotional by nature so when there is a argument i can go from screaming at the top of my lungs to bawling in like one sec
today was another blowout with certain members of my family and i got super upset like i could not catch my breath and was all red ..u know like when u have been crying for a while and u try to talk and cant breathe...like that
after i got home and told dh and he calmed me down i took a shower to cool myself off and just have nagging pains in my belly
nothing major,,not in bad pain but it is diff from anything i have felt before..not like stretching pain but just pain
now i am sittng here thinking i am contracting bc i have been so worked up..
what would a contraction at 23 weeks feel like? will it go away or should i go to the doc
i am just confused and after all this the last thing i want to do is hurt our babies
thanks if u got this far

stress and pregnancy
I don't know if it's anything, I would drink a bunch of water and rest. I it doesn't cease in an hour or gets worse so I'd call the doc...

Oh Gina, I hope you're okay! Who ever is stressing you out needs to realize that they're not just fighting with you right now - they're fighting with your two little ones. Prayers that everything is okay!

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Contractions that early just feel like super tightness in your belly when usually it would feel a little more floppy. They're not usually painful, but the tightness can last a while. Drinking more water and laying on your left side is supposed to help (never helped me much). It can't hurt the babies. But it's always best for you to feel calm if possible. You have so much going on as it is, you don't need any additional drama! What the heck is wrong with people??
Hope you feel better! Definitely call the doc if you want some peace of mind. Next time just walk away (if possible) before you get worked up. I know, easier said than done. Hugs!!

Gina! Say no and walk away! I'm very emotional too both good and bad, I'll cry in a heartbeat. I usually ly down take some nice breaths to relax my muscles and contractions and always keep the fluids going. If you feel any pain, call dr.

stress and pregnancy
I agree, drink water, and walk away.
Honestly, my family caused me too much stress. I told my parents my blood pressure was too high for it, and the dr warned me medicine was next. I told them if they'd continue I'd hang up the phone or step out of the room. They got very nasty in reply and I haven't spoken to them since June. My blood pressures better

Re: stress and pregnancy
One of my friends had some early contractions while pregnant and the doctor told her she was low on potassium - I am pretty sure that is the mineral. She was experiencing tightness in the belly that I think was lasting a long time. I think the potassium helped the muscles relax as they stretch rather than cramp up.
Just throwing this out there that you may want to discuss with your doctor to see if there is anything else other than stress causing this.
Try to take it easy - you may need to temporarily shut some of these people out of your life if it is causing this much stress. That could give them some time to blow the steam off too. Not sure exactly what the issues are, but do your best to stay out of it.
My doctor said resting and fluids seem to solve a lot of problems in pregnancy, so when in doubt, try that - it certainly won't hurt anything.
Hang in there.

Re: stress and pregnancy
I'm sorry you are stressed. :(
When I get upset I immediately get cramping and my stomach tightens. It's stress to your body and the babies. When I was having contractions the other night I didn't feel any pain.

Re: stress and pregnancy
Awww sorry you are going through this!
I went through alot of stress with buying and selling a house throughout my twin pregnancy. On the bad days it def brought on "tightness" as well as shaking and shortness of breath.
I agree with the pp try to get away from the drama for a while, drink alot of water and lay on your left side. If that doesn't help then call your dr.
Hang in there
