Strict bedrest is HARD!!
Today is my first official day on strict bedrest for my BP/swelling and I can't seem to stick to it!! I've already thrown in laundry and started the dishwasher...I am having a VERY difficult time with this...I can't just lay there in bed!!
How does everyone else manage?

You sound just like me. I could not stay in bed for the life of me. My Dh and i would fight about it all the time (we still do). I don't know why at this stage of the game they just don't take the baby out. It is healthier for them and for us. It is hard to stay in bed knowing that in a few days we are going to have a little baby to take care of so nesting takes over. Rent a bunch of movies and try to sleep. Are you going to go c-section????? Have they spoken to you about taking your little one early???? I would ask. They are taking me c-section on monday because even with being on BR my BP has not moved. Ask if they can take your little one early, He/she is already developed fully. Do you know what size your little one is????
Best of luck and try to keep those feet up. You are almost there.

I understand. When I was on bedrest a few weeks ago it was so hard to just lay there all day and night. DH took vacation that week so he was home to yell at me when I got up. Can you lay on the couch? I was allowed to so in the morning I would get up and watch tv in the living room, then mid day when my living room got too sunny and hot I moved back into the bedroom and then came back into the living room in the evening. That helpd alot to be able to have a change of scenery.

I agree!! When I was in the hospital bed rest was annoying but sooooooooooooo much easier!!! Once I got home there was 1001 things I could think of doing and everytime I walked to the bathroom I would do something! DH would yell at me all the time b/c I would try to do things and he wouldn't let me.
What I found worked best for me was I would stay in bed for a good part of the day but when he got home in the afternoon I went into the LR (laying on the couch) to watch TV with him all night. It wasn't easy but I made it through . Just constantly try to remember why you are doing all of this

I know it's hard but remember its what is best for your baby.
Did you give you limitations on what you can and cannot do?
Just try to stay in bed as much as possible. I know they told me to rest on my side when I was in bed.

Thanks!! The reason i'm on Bedrest is so that my swelling will go down...I have to go back on Monday and my due date is next Thursday. The Drs want me to go into labor naturally without any help from them. My BP has been up and down and very inconsistent so they are holding out doing any induction.
I have NO IDEA what size the baby is...hopefully by Monday I will have more answers UNLESS I go into Labor this weekend. I've gotten 3 calls today from friends and co-workers that have had premonitions that I will go into labor this weekend..so who knows!!
