Re: Strip club in Wantagh/Seaford
I just have to throw out there (stirring the pot just a bit) that I LOVE when people don't know all the facts, but get themselves in a tizzy about something that isn't even going to happen. Here is the article wherein the owner explains EXACTLY what type of establishment it will be:
Word of a planned entertainment complex in Wantagh that will be run by a North Bellmore strip club owner has prompted concern by residents who worry about what will be embarking in their neighborhood.
However Billy Dean, owner of the business slated to open at 3500 Sunrise Hwy, is trying to emphasize that he is not planning to have any form of adult entertainment in the Wantagh location and will instead be offering a dinner club with "unique comedy acts."
Dean, who owns Billy Dean's Showtime Café, a strip club located on 1538 Newbridge Rd. in North Bellmore, has announced on his website that a new entertainment facility will be opening in Wantagh. This announcement prompted a petition drive Thursday by members of the Wantagh Mommas Facebook group urging people to contact local elected officials because of concerns a strip club may be coming to their community.
Dean said in a phone interview that rumors of his business operating as a strip club such as the one he owns in nearby North Bellmore are not true. Dean's website states his new business, which does not yet have a name, will feature "a full service restaurant, cocktails and extraordinary entertainment such as the likes of the Coney Island sideshow combined with unusual acts typical to "Americas Got Talent" along with complete dinner theater packages."
"This is going to be a similar to a comedy club," said Dean. "It is going to be a completely different concept."
Wantagh Chamber of Commerce President Chris Brown said he has had no contact with Dean over his planned business. Brown said he has been in touch with Hempstead town officials who informed him that Dean was given zoning approval for a dinner club but as part of the agreement is not allowed to have any nude dancing.
Dean said construction is underway for the business and he is in the process of marketing it. He did not give an estimated date that the business will open but said it would likely be sometime next year.

Mr. Dean neglected to mention in this article that up until the Wantagh Mommas group and Wantagh Chamber contacted him, his website described the upcoming Wantagh club almost identically to his website's description for his Bellmore club, which is what got both groups concerned since that's not what TOH had zoned the facility for. Amazingly after these groups spoke to him the new club's description was removed from the website and then only said "Coming Soon"

Re: Strip club in Wantagh/Seaford
In addition you might want to know that Mr Dean has been granted a "Cabaret License" which dose not allow nudity but does allow pasties and g strings or what ever "costumes" the act call for. His other strip clubs have been fined countless times for various violations. He pays the fine and continues business as usual. He supposedly paid 1,000,000 in Cash for the location on Sunrise and purchased the house behind it. The TOH sold us out on this one. Thanks Kate
Are the residents of Wantagh and Seaford supposed to trust this man and believe that it will be a dinner club with entertainment? I for one do not.

Re: Strip club in Wantagh/Seaford
Thank you for posting this!!
The original poster KNOWS the facts for anyone who does not think that she does. It was clearly just a PSA and I really do not think that it warranted such rude comments.
Although Billy Dean claims to not have nudity, why should he be trusted? He's been fined before for breaking numerous laws and IMO is not being truthful when it comes to what he's claiming this new establishment will be.
Who in their right mind would want a sleazy etsbalishment in their neighborhood? No good can come from it.

Exactly. I don't think it's unreasonable to not want a strip club or "Cabaret club" or whatever in my neighborhood.
