stroller/ car seat registry question
how many strollers/car seats did you register for?
We will be using daycare eventually and DH will most likely be dropping off, and I will be picking up. Does that mean in reality we should have two of each? We are planning on getting the city mini with the car seat attachment (so at least we wont each need a snap and go and then another stroller), but then when grows out of the infant seat we will each need a convertible car seat, right? I feel like thats soo much to register for! Did anyone have a similar situation? What did you register for?
TIA

Re: stroller/ car seat registry question
We registered for 1 infant seat & an extra base (we didn't get the extra base). Then we registered for only 1 SnugRider stroller & one all terrain stroller. When it comes time for the convertible seat, we will have to get 2

Re: stroller/ car seat registry question
We registered for 2 snugrides, one for each car and 2 strollers. I got the metrolite stroller system and my snugride matches that and DH got the other snugride and the Jeep Liberty Limited stroller that take his snugride just in case. We got a 3rd snugride for MIL's car too.

Re: stroller/ car seat registry question
We registered for an infant car seat & a convertable car seat. Strollers - Snap N Go & Citi Mini. We haven't decided on an extra base yet even though there will be two days DH will drop DS off at daycare & I'll be picking him up. Mostly because I'm close to the daycare & we'll be playing musical cars. DH has been driving my car lately, which is more of a sports car - on the smaller side & not comfry for a pregnant lady let alone a carseat.

Wow, that's a lot of infant seats! Can I ask why you didn't just get the extra bases? If DC will be in daycare, you can leave the snugride there during the day if a different parent picks up/drops off.
The great thing about the infant seat is that it snaps in and out, so you can use it in a bunch of different cars. And a lot of people don't use it for very long (we used ours for 10-11 months, but not everyone does)
To answer the OP's question, we had a snugride and 2 bases, you can also install the snugride with no base as well, which we did a few times in my mom's car. We had (and still have) only the Metrolite as a stroller.
As for a convertible seat, I didn't register for one, but we eventually got an Eddie Bauer for my car and the Graco Comfortsport for DH's. You will need two of those when the time comes

You can leave the car seat at the daycare? I didn't know that! That makes life a bit easier so then we will register for one infant seat with an extra base

Re: stroller/ car seat registry question
Yes - you can leave the car seat at daycare. At one of the daycares I went to, people also left the Snap n Go as well.
We're planning on getting a Snap n Go and a Maclaren.
ETA - We are going to register for an infant seat with an extra base and 2 convertible car seats. My ILs will be helping us with daycare pickup and will get a base and we'll keep one in our car.

Re: stroller/ car seat registry question
We got 1 infant seat that came with a base and an extra base for DH's car.
We will need 2 convertible car seats when the time comes, which is why we went with the chicco keyfit 30 (30 lb limit infant seat instead of the 20 or 22 lb). Those convertibles are expensive so i'm hoping she can stay in the infant seat for a year or more.
We also got the city mini and will get the chicco trevi lightweight stroller, which fits our chicco keyfit infant seat. It'll be nice to have an extra stroller for when MIL watches her too.

We didn't think you could leave the carseat at daycare (didn't see any there) so we registered for two, so if DH drops off and I pick up we will each have a car seat.

Re: stroller/ car seat registry question
I registered for one travel system (stroller/infant seat) and then a spare carseat b/c we'll be getting another car.
the xtra base was just as much as the car seat. I also added on one of those smaller umbrella strollers just to keep in the trunk of the car.

DH will be dropping off at daycare & I will be picking up.
We registered for 1 car seat + 1 extra base. snap & go + city mini.
I'm thinking we can get by with one stroller between the two of us. If it becomes a problem then we will purchase another one when needed.

Re: stroller/ car seat registry question
We did one infant seat, and one extra base for DH's car. We also registered for the convertible seat as well, because even if nobody bought it, we wanted the 10% off completion coupon to work for it, because we were able to get the 10% off, and an additional 15% off, from one of the cut-out coupons.

Re: stroller/ car seat registry question
I registered for two strollers. The city mini is my lightweight stroller and I love it! I also registered for two carseats. An infant carrier that goes into my main stroller and the regular carseat. There fore, 2 carseats and two strollers.

DH's car is a 2 door and is a PITA to get the car seat in and out of and didn't really want to deal with it when comes. That is why we got one for each car. The 3rd snugride for MIL's car was free so that is how we ended up with the 3rd, we didn't register for 3, only 2. I will be a SAHM for the first 2 years so we won't have to worry about daycare just yet. We figured my job would just only pay for daycare so we figured might as well be me raising her and not a daycare provider.
