stuck at work
anyone else? I can't even imagine how long its going to take me to get home. I work in Bethpage and live in Farmingville. It's pretty ridiculous that they don't let us out early.

Re: stuck at work
I am... but I commute on the train. Although today I have my doctors appointment at 6 and my DH was going to come into the city and go with me and then he had some appointments of his own and then we were going to drive back to LI. I told him to try and cancel his appointment so I will go to the doctor on my own (a little earlier if possible) and then take the train back.

Re: stuck at work
I'm still here too. Not as bad as a commute as it could be - Islandia to Huntington - but I still hate driving in this weather.

Be very careful walking around in the city!

Re: stuck at work
I work with my MIL and she has an SUV. She wants me to leave my car at work and she will drive me home. I don't know what to do. I hate leaving my car somewhere. What should I do?

Re: stuck at work
Im at work too. ITs really dark here in NYC and sleeting. They will NEVER let us out early (they didnt even want to close the office early on 9/11 until the building evacuated us! ). Im getting updates from Long Island and I will leave early if it gets really bad. My commute is almost 2 hrs via subway and train and I really dont want to get stuck and not get home til 10pm or later again.

Thanks. I just spoke to DH and he cancelled his appointment in the city and I told him to skip this Dr. appointment. I will just take a cab to the doctor from my office (I'll leave a little early) and then a cab to Penn Station and get a ride from teh train station.

I work in Islandia, live in Huntington so we are neighbors 50-60 hours out of the week.

Re: stuck at work
the roads are actually getting better now than they were earlier. I was out around 11-12 and they were awful. Just got back in again, and they're much clearer. More slush, but less ice.
Snow has stopped here, so hopefully your commutes won't be bad.
