how many weeks is it? its a full semester right?

Not sure about spring semester, my fall semester student teaching was 15 weeks.

i had to do 8 weeks in each placement (i got split between two building levels)

As an undergrad in PA I had to do 16 weeks. 10 weeks in a 5th grade class and 6 weeks in a kindergarten class (i got an early childhood and elementary certification).
In NY for graduate school, I had a 9 week (45 days) placement in a self-contained special ed. class for my special ed. certification
Each of these placements were for the full-school day. There were other requirements such as observations and junior year I had a mini-student teaching (2 full weeks) but this was all before the "real" student teaching semester.

Me too. I did 8 in a middle school and 8 in a high school.

for my teaching cert I had to do 8 weeks - FT days
but through my years of teaching I have seen different things from different schools (secondary)
for my other two certifications it was by hours.
