Stupid Dentist!
So I have been having major problems with my teeth. Anyone who has seen me in person knows the ridiculous extent of my issues, but recently I went to yet another dentist (I have been to many in the pst few years) to got a new type of gum treatment done. I am trying to avoid gum surgery & this technique is supposed to be the best way to rebuild the tissue naturally.
ANYHOO...so they do the cleanings, and when all the treatments were done, they apply this topical gel that is an anti-microbial solution to eradicate any remaining cells under the gum. So I agree & get it done yesterday.
AFTER they apply it they tell me that it has to stay on for 7 days. SEVEN F-IN DAYS. It is visible & I have a huge family reunion/wedding to go to this weekend. It looks like I have not brushed my teeth with all the cr@p they shot into my gums & between my teeth.
I am soooo ticked. Had they told me I had to leave it on for 7 days I would have gone in last week!
Friggin asshats.

I had the SAME EXCACT thing done to me. Except, I picked all that crap out from between my teeth DAY 1!!! I figured the stuff needs to be in my gum pockets, not in between my teeth, so I took it upon myself to pull it all out. My dentist said it was OK.
The kicker is, my insurance didn't even cover that antibiotic because they consider it a NEW treatment. Real nice!
Pick it out with a toothpick! You'll feel better you did!!

Yeah I LOVED paying cash for that cr@p.
Did you find the treatment helped? Did it keep you from having further gum procedures?
I am so going to pick it out at lunch. Eww I feel gross.
BTW who is your dentist...I might be looking for a new one after this

I only had it done about a month ago, but I do see a difference with my teeth and gums. They never bleed when I brush anymore and they are so pink and healthy looking. That antibiotic stuff was crap, but I understand the need for it I guess.
My dentist is Dr. Michele Harutunian in Franklin Square. She's very nice, there's never a wait, and she's very gentle. I like her a lot.
