Stupid Question - Certified Checks
I have to go get these today for closing, and I don't remember how it works (last time I got one was about 5 years ago for my car).
Can the money be in my savings account, or does it need to be in my checking account? Or it doesn't matter?
Thanks!

Re: Stupid Question - Certified Checks
I'm not sure that it matters (I'm pretty sure ours was in savings when we closed), but if it's the same bank you could just transfer the money right there (if they have a preference) and then have the checks cut.

Re: Stupid Question - Certified Checks
it doesnt matter.
if you are getting a certified check - you write the check from your own checkbook and the bank stamps it - so if the money is in your savings, you can transfer it to your checking.
if you are getting a Cashier's (Bank) Check - its pretty much the same as a certified check - but you withdraw the money from whatever account u want.
