Stupid question but can someone explain what a 529 account is?
I know I should know this....
I'm thinking of openning an account for DS before his birthday to start saving for college. I hear a lot about 529's but dont know much about them. Explain away

short and dirty? It's like a 401(k) for college expenses. You put money in and you can claim the amount on your taxes.
