Stupid Question: How do you wipe DC's nose?
DS is just getting over a cold nad he freaks out when I wipe his nose that runs at times. I've been using a damp washcloth so it isn't rough, but he still freaks.
Any suggestions?

I use a tissue, I grab that little nose and I squeeze it to get all the boogies out. He doesn't mind, sometimes he runs over to me and leans into me pointing at his nose....its very cute, although snot isn't cute.

It's a battle but it must get done. The longer it goes on the less fighting we seem to do.
I use a very warm wash cloth when I can but many times it's just a tissue.
Also...I rub aquaphor under his nose throughout the day to help with the sore skin and this seems to make it easier to clean him up without a constant fight. I think it doesn't hurt as much.

I use a tissue, grab, squeeze and wipe. I try to make a game out of it "i'm gonna get those boogies" - she usually runs and I chase her with the tissue. She hates it, but it gets done
I also put aquaphor under and around her nose if its red and irritated from all the running and wiping.

when my boys were sick I used Puffs tissues with aloe..I found using anything wet such as wipes made their noses dry and sore. When it did get sore I put aquaphor on it.

We started using Pampers sensitive wipes to do her nose, and now she actually lets us do it instead of running away!

Total battle but it must be done. I use a fragrance free wipe and hold and squeeze the nose- if I MUST I get the wipe up there with my pinkey finger-misery!!!!
I bought a few of the boogy suckers -the bulb was useless and the electronic was OK but I didn't find it too effective honestly.

Same with us. I put saline gel on DD's nose though. It keeps it from getting dry and irritated and the saline helps with her breathing.
