Stupid question....is this dirt?
I was changing my son the other day and I noticed splotches of darker colored skin not a lot darker but a bit darker on his body. Almost like a tan but not uniform and only in some spots.
My initial thought was "its a layer of dirt" but we give him a shower every day so it shouldn't be. Do we need to scrub him harder? or is it a potential skin issue and we need to contact our pediatrician
I did sort of try washing him harder but its still there

Stupid question....is this dirt?
Doesn’t look like dirt IMO. If he showers daily he shouldn’t have a dirt “stain” I would have him checked, could be many things something simple as a heat rash

Go to a dermatologist but it looks like Terra Firma-Forme Dermatosis. My daughter has it. Try wiping it with an alcohol rub and see if it goes away.

Has that always been there? Both my kids were born with Mongolian spots, Which are skin discoloration that looked black and blue when they were babies, but as they got older and it fades, it has more of that brownish color.

Its not dirt, it's some type of rash or infection. My best guess would be fungal. Go to the dr.

Yep child has it too and all they needed was rubbing alcohol too.

Not mongolian spots.
Fun fact - I was born in Missouri - small town and I was the first asian born there and all the doctors and nurses there never saw Mongolian spots before.
So I was the talk of the hospital 45 years ago.
