Stupid thermometer question....
I just got a new thermometer and to use rectally it says to use a water soluble lubricant....it actually says NOT to use petroleum jelly. That's what I used to use with my other thermometer. Aquaphor maybe, that's only part p.j.??

You should use something like KY instead... (although I know it feels wrong to buy KY for your baby!)

Do you think the aquaphor is OK ? I used it before I realized I wasn't supposed to.

If you are worried check with your doctor but I'd be shocked if it caused a problem -- we all cover their butts with aquaphor or vaseline often! Going forward though I'd stick to water soluble for anything going inside...
