Stupid vent

Why do so many maternity shirts have ties in the back? When they are tied and knotted you can't sit down without feeling a big knot in your back. When you get up to go to the bathroom and forget to retie you have two long strings hanging down your back.

ETA: and if you are lucky enough - they dip down into the toilet!

They make it so your belly can look as big as possible as early as possible so that people can leer and point and make nasty inappropriate comments as if you are a freak of nature. This is MY assessment. I could be wrong though.

I actually like them only because if you tie them tight enough you can pull on the sides of the shirt and bring it to the back so it hugs you more and gives you shape rather than being all moo mooish. They are annoying though.

Yeah they are a double edged sword. The give you some shape so it doesn't look like you are wearing a moo-moo, but I hate sitting against that knot in my back. Like we aren't uncomfortable as it is

I know! I hate them!! I almost walked out of the bathroom with it tucked into my pants!!! lol
