Yes, you need to go to Dr. Alexander Kofinas in Garden City. He specializes in treating this. I had one and with his treatment it totally resolved and I am due in two weeks.

Dr. Kofinas, is he a specialist? I saw Flisser in Garden City with my first pregnancy as i had to have fertility help wiht my daughter..now, just got pregnant on my own this second time...i wondered if i should contact a specialist..i am seeing San Roman out east here in Port Jeff..he is just an OB....i have been wanting to contact my RE to just get another opinion on this but i dont know..they told me no lifting, exercise etc...and for now, it would just take its course...that, of course, makes me nervous

Re: subchorionic bleeding in pregnancy-anyone have this and what was your outcome?
I had this from weeks 5 - 12. I was bleeding heavily. Dark red blood. Horrible cramps. The first time it happened, there was blood everywhere. I was sobbing as I drove to my dr, thinking I was having a mascarriage. Both babies were okay and it finally went away around 12 weeks. So freaking scary!
The dr said it happens w/ a lot of people. Try to limit lifting and any heavy exercise. I found that it got worse when I did laundry, lifted groceries, or did anything too physical.
HTH!

Re: subchorionic bleeding in pregnancy-anyone have this and what was your outcome?
I have a "large" one with this pregnancy. I am being monitored by a perinatologist at St. Charles (Dr. El-Kady - I LOVE her!!!). I am now 28 weeks and I don't want to jinx myself at this point, but so far so good. I did have heavy bleeding at 12 weeks (I truly thought I was miscarrying) and spotting on and off since then. They discovered it at my 8 week sono. I have not been allowed to exercise at all, not even yoga, which has been rough and I have been told to "take it easy." Mine has not gone away yet, but I see the specialist next week and I am keeping my fingers crossed. At my last sono at 24ish weeks, it was the first time it was smaller. Other than that it was bigger or the same. Once I get to 32 weeks or so, I will exhale again.

I am so sorry to hear what you are going through Kelley. Yes- in the beginning of my pregnancy I was bleeding. I found out that I had a subchorionic blood clot. I went to Kofinas first-but I highly recommend you see someone else. I now go to ElKady who I adore. Kofinas gave me a serious misdiagnosis and forced me and my unborn child go through unnecessary SURGERY.

I had a subchorionic hematoma around 8 weeks- I had two days of staining (old brown blood) then it stopped. My doctor said it was small and would likely resolve on its own- it was gone at my 12 ultrasound.
