substitutes for sugar when baking?
trying to make muffins for my dd and don't want to use regular sugar. what can i use instead as a substitute? I tried googling and have found conflicting info and got overwhelmed without finding anything useful. help please!

substitutes for sugar when baking?
Pureed fruit or applesauce will add some sweetness, but then you will have to reduce the amount of liquid/fat.
You can also reduce the amount of regular sugar, just not drastically or the proportions will be off.
I don't like Splenda for baking. I'd rather use the real stuff, just not a lot of it.

I've tried recipes where sugar was replaced with maple syrup. It tasted pretty good.

I have had muffins where someone used date puree instead of sugar and they tasted good.
