Such sad news today
One of my closest friends, who struggled and struggled with infertility..she had several unsuccesful attempts at IVF a few years ago with her first husband. Somehow she got pregnant when she was not trying, totally unplanned and unexpected. She is getting remarried, and moved her wedding date up even. We were sooooo excited to be pregnant together. Wednesday she saw the heartbeat, but it was low(68), and this weekend she lost her baby. I just cried with her on the phone, I love this woman so much, and she really deserved this baby, I wish I knew what to say or do for her, but I know right now she is just going to feel the hurt. She is trying to think positively, that she actually GOT pregnant, so she will try again, but does not want to go through the emotional rollercoaster of IVF again, so I had just hoped so much that this was it for her. Sorry to be a drag, I just had to get it out, and I knew you'd understand.
I just want to do something for her, I just don't know what? Any ideas? A massage maybe? Or should I just let her be for a little while, ugh, I just don't know.......

Re: Such sad news today
I'm so sorry about your friend.
If you want to do more than just listen, maybe you can just take a day with her and do some girl stuff. Maybe go get some facials together or get a manicure and a cup of coffee. Just listen, that's what I needed when I lost my son.
I'm sure its not an easy thing to listen to when you're pregnant and worrying about your own baby, too. You're a good friend.

Re: Such sad news today
That really stinks. I know when I lost the baby last Sept. that the best thing for me was space. My friends respected that and didn't push to be in my face. It was more important for me to get an email that sais "Thinking of you, call me when you want"
That to me was enough. Your being a good friend and that is what matters most!

Very sorry for your friend. I have a friend that went through, all I can say to you is just be there for her. I don't think there is much to say. Be her shoulder to cry on.

I'm really sorry for your friend. It's really heartbreaking to hear stories like this. You seem like a really good friend and i'm sure she will need all the support now. I'll say a prayer for her.

Re: Such sad news today
Thanks all. I am just going to be there for her, I know she will call me when she needs me. She is so unselfish though, I was crying, and she kept apologizing...I was just like STOP, I just care for you and wish you didnt have to go through this. Then she begged me not to stop talking about my pregnancy with her because of this.
I was just like, there will be plenty of time for that. Today is about you, and being good to yourself....
I wish I could go take her out for a mani/pedi or something, but she moved to Indiana a few months ago ( I drove her out there) woohoo! But I can't even go give her a hug I guess that is what is most frustrating...

Re: Such sad news today
That is a heartbreaking story. It sounds like you are being a great friend and I agree just being there for her to talk to means so much I am sure.
I know you feel so helpless and want to be able to do something tangible. One of my long distance friends sent me tulips went we mc'd (they are both of our favorite flowers) and that was cheery for me. Hope that helps..
Again there is nothing better than friendship which it sounds like she has in you!

I am so very sorry for both you and your friend I'm sure she knows you are giving her a huge hug all the way from here. She sounds like a very strong woman and I pray that she is able to get pg again and carry that wonderful baby to term

Re: Such sad news today
This was me and my best friend 2 years ago -- she went through IF and got pg in January. I got pg naturally in February...and I was the one who m/c in April.
I have no idea what you can do for her, I know there was nothing that made me feel better about it until I finally got my BFP.
But that is kind of you. She will probably still want to be involved - I know I did.
