Sudden todal body/joint pain....temperature change related?
Years ago I had a few "attacks" where my total body was in pain, knees, ankles, neck, wrists. It often was when I went from the summer heat, to commercial a/c.
When it happened the drs found nothing.
It happened yesterday. It started when we went from a museums cold AC, to heat, back to the AC, & then when walking to the car I started to feel it. By the time we got home I could barely stand up or keep my head up. Ibruphrophen worked. But then in the evening it happened again and WORSE. I was laying in bed & couldn't move, to walk I had to slide my feet, because lifting hurt too much.
Today I'm better, a little body achy & tired.
I know it seems odd, my husband is an ER PA & has never seen this. He's see it happen to me back in 2005 & now again & is at a loss.
I figured I'd ask & see if anyone has ever had this happen.

Sudden todal body/joint pain....temperature change related?
Is it joint or muscle pain? Mine seems to be more of a muscle pain. I experience the same thing a few times a month--doctors nod and listen when I describe the symptoms, but no one ever really took it seriously. I think I have narrowed it down to either dehydration or too many carbs. Maybe I have a mild wheat intolerance, but it feels like an allergic reaction because it does happen within a few hours. Feel better :)

It sounds autoimmune to me. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and sudden temperature change is really bad for me. Fyi I am seronegative which means it does not show up in my bloodwork. It took 6 months to diagnose me bc of this. Your attacks u are describing sound like flare ups. These can come and go. Im hoping thats not what u have just sounded similar to things I go through, It wouldnt hurt to see a rheumatologist. Good luck!

Def sounds like an autoimmune disorder. RA? Maybe in conjunction with Raynaud's

Re: Sudden todal body/joint pain....temperature change related?
When I had the attack years ago, I did go to a rheumatologist. They found nothing, of course they wanted me in as soon as it happened again & it never did....until now, & now I'm living in NC.
After about 2 days I was back to myself. I tried to go over everything of the past few days prior & then I realized I had Chinese a few days prior. Which we rarely eat anymore (March I think was the last time). So thought maybe was that. I also rolled over my pill packs, to skip a month.
So I feel like too many variables....but I'm going to keep an eye.
It's funny you say raynauds....I used to get some issues in my finger. So I'm a little freaked, than maybe in the future something more will come of all this?

I would try another rheumatologist. For 6 months they found nothing with me either because it does not show up in my bloodwork. They ordered a joint ultrasound finally and that's when they saw it. Good luck.

I'm hoping it never returns....but if it does, my DH wants to take me in to his ER ASAP. Do you know what tests your dr ran on you to find it?

Sudden todal body/joint pain....temperature change related?
I think I had every test under the sun because it does not show up in my bloodwork. They thought I had lymes, ms, u name it. It was very frustrating. Finally I went to a great rheumatologist who ordered a joint ultrasound and that's how I was finally diagnosed. If it happens to u again and u take anti inflammatories or prednisone and it helps u, chances are u have inflammation in your body. Good luck and hopefully it never happens again to u :)

I hope it doesn't also....but thank you for the replies!
This way if it does, I can ask other options to help determine what is going on.
