I am willing to drive anywhere for a good doctor too, but some people arent. I lived in Bellmore at one point and still drove to go see him. His name is Dr Joseph Livoti in west islip on montauk hwy. 631-661-6041. He is in a practice by himself in terms of the OB part, he has a woman who also takes care of the regular gyn stuff.

Re: suffolk doc?

All of my family (except me!) sees Dr. Livoti...I have heard great things about him...I used a different practice because I preferred to deliver at St. Charles...

Re: suffolk doc?

I go to Suffolk OB/GYN. They have about a dozen OBs in the practice. So, if you are more comfortable with a woman, you can ask for one. I have to admit though, I was always one to go to a woman. Since I'm pregnant I have been seeing a couple of the male doctors there and feel more comfortable and find their bedside manner to be WONDERFUL! I am so happy with my doctors. They have 4 offices: Port Jefferson, Smithtown, Patchogue and Wading River. They are associated with St. Charles hospital in Port Jeff. I have heard nothing but great things about that hospital.

I got to Suffolk OB as well...I have seen about a dozen different doctors there and have been satisfied with all of them but one (FM me if you want the name)

However, Dr. Tufano did my D&C back last year and she was absolutely wonderful. I just had Dr. Strittmatter just did my c-section last month and he is also great. So, I would recommend one of those 2.

Dr. Strittmatter is AWESOME! My Dh and and I are so impressed with him as a doctor. I've been on bedrest for the past 6 weeks and have been seeing him once a week to be monitored. He is so patient, sympathetic, informative and knowledgeable. He was even drawing us diagrams last week while we were there. Never makes us feel uncomfortable for asking any questions and has never rushed us.

Re: suffolk doc?

I go to Dr Arato & Dr Blyscak in Stony Brook. They deliver at both Stony Brook and St Charles. Dr Blyscak was not my OB (he was covering for my OB)when I was pregnant but he did my emergency c-section. He made me and DH feel so comfortable with him I switched Dr's after my 6week pp checkup.
