suffolk obgyn strep B..TMI

for those that go to suffolk obgyn how is the strep B test done? i made a post a few days ago but some people had it done vaginaly and in the rectum im just curious what im in for. Is it both holes???

I don't know if your OB office is different then others, but I'm assuming it's probably not....
Knowing that, this "test" is a culture swab that, yes, will include both the vaginal and rectal areas --- at my office they did more of a 'perineal' swab (basically from one end to the next)!

It was VERY QUICK and was NONINVASIVE. I hardly even noticed.

Its routine to swap both va-jay-jay and butt... its quick, I had it both of my pregnantcies (my spelling *****) different OBGYN's....
Sorry ladies.. expect both.. its no big deal compared to what is ahead... lol

When is this test done? Is it in office at a regular visit?

It done @ your OBGYN's office around 37-38 week, its take before you deliver so if you come up poss the hospital can have antibiotics ready for you in labor and delivery.

I am having mine done in 2 weeks at 35 weeks gestation. They told me its the outer part of the vagina and rectum. I guess this will be a start to many visits down there.
