Suggestions for 9yr olds birthday dinner at Disney
We aren't doing any dining plan so we have no reservations as of now. What would you recommend for a Saturday night dinner for my soon to be 9 yr old DD?

Be Our Guest?
Also we didn't go there, but Splitsville in DTD gets a lot of good reviews on a Disney forum I go to. Said they also have good sushi on the menu.

We did Be our Guest and ordered the most adorable small cake in advance. It was a nice dinner...they gave her a signed card and put a candle in the grey stuff. I will find a pic of the cake. The food portions are tiny there though

The Hoop Dee Doo dinner show is lots of fun.
Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge
Ohana at the Polynesian
Cape May Clam Bake at the Beach Club (if she likes seafood)
California Grill at the Contemporary is very special if you get a reservation during the fireworks at the magic kingdom. You can see the show from the restaurant.

You know, I read that all over and maybe DH and I just aren't big eaters but we were both stuffed and we didn't do an appetizer. I had the signature shrimp and scallops in the pastry puff and he had the braised pork. We ordered the grey stuff and another chocolately dessert (better than the grey stuff).
I can post pics of my dinner too if I remember.

My meal was okay size, definitely not enough to make anyone stuffed though, I had some chicken thing. But the kids portions were a joke. The Mickey Meatloaf was so tiny we were laughing.

What does she like? Does she like attention? Just want a fun meal? Tell people for the week you are celebrating many places will do something for her. We went several times for birthdays. I told the cast member to add it for one meal, and she insisted on adding it to all of them. She got a few bday cards, a cupcake, some Mickey pixie dust. Places like sci fi drive in announced her bday, character meals they often give signed cards, ohana calls kids up and sings happy birthday to anyone celebrating as a group. Many places you can order a special bday cake (they do fancy ones -they cost money but are gorgeous cakes depending on what you are willing to pay). I saw several 10-12 year old girls at cinderella's castle that did BBB and they got a lot of attention. Same with Akershus. If she wants attention I would try some of those.

Gotcha. DS ordered the Mac and cheese but he didn't eat it because he was so exhausted from the day. This could probably be a spin-off post though about places to eat in Disney that are over-hyped.

TY. She doesn't like attention much and already told us she won't wear a pin or crown, lol.
