Suggestions for a 2-3 day getaway PLEASE!

so my bday is nov. 12th--and i thought it would be nice if DH and i could get away for 2-3 days. unfortunately i'm having a hard time finding something affordable--and its killing me. i was thinking of going Nov. 11th - 14 (or 13th if its too much $$) i chked out AC -- and it seems its a popular time of year to go....foxwoods & mohegan sun are sold out. i considered vegas--but too $$.

does anyone have ANY ideas? something i can drive to? maybe the poconos? upstate? b&b? i swear i just wanna do SOMETHING.

btw--all the places i just mentioned, DH and i have never been to any of them -- so any suggestions are welcome.

Newport, RI or Cape Cod.
Boston is great too, and you can make a day of it in Salem, Plymouth, etc.

Or DC or Baltimore? Chat Icon

You could always wait until REAL last minute and book one of those REALLY cheap last-minute caribbean trips that you always see advertised.... 3 nights wouldnt be ridiculous if you got a direct flight.

We went out to the North Fork (Greenport area) a few weekends ago and had a really nice time. It's beautiful this time of year there.

Check out flights to Aruba on JetBlue. They are not that high, depending on the dates.

Good luck.

Re: Suggestions for a 2-3 day getaway PLEASE!

My anniversary is 11/13, and instead of going away this year, we are taking the 13th and 14th off from work, staying at a nice hotel in NYC, the day of our anniversary, we're going to do city stuff... circle line, museums, Empire State Building, followed by dinner at our favorite romantic restaurant. The next day we're going to go to a matinee, probably Mama Mia since that's what we saw in London on our HM.

We're going to New Hampshire next weekend. If you like hiking and great country drives you would like it! I'm sure you can find something affordable up there at that time of year as it is off season.

I just booked a little get away for our anniversary in Feb. We are going to Greenport and staying at a B&B called Morning Glory for the weekend.

YOu can see how much the Caesar's resorts are in the pocono's.

We did the same thing last year for my Dh's 35... We stayed at a nice hotel, saw A Chorus Line one night and an Opera at the Met the other night, went to museums and ate at phenominal restaurants.. We felt like tourists and it was great...

Re: Suggestions for a 2-3 day getaway PLEASE!

We stayed at a hotel in Mystic and took a cab to Foxwoods for a night! it was only 20 minutes away. We stayed at the comfort inn which was affordable and nice! :)

The town of Mystic was really nice to walk around and do a little shopping and we ate at a great restaurant there right before the draw bridge and I can't remember the name right now. I'll edit post to add when I find it.
