Suggestions for Helping Pump Milk Better/Engorged Breasts and Pumping
I have been exclusively pumping for a few weeks now and the last two days my breasts feel so full but for most of my feedings I am not getting a whole lot of milk out when I pump.
My breats are full and I feel hard lumps on the sides.
Any suggestions for what I can do to get the milk out!?
I have been using a heating pad, it helps a little but not much.

Do you pump using a handsfree bra? I do that and massage my boobs to help get the milk coming out. Massage the lumps. Might help.
Drink a lot of water.

suggestions I've gotten:
massage in the shower, this helps to prevent clogged ducts
massage while you are pumping
eat & drink while pumping too

Take a hot shower right before you pump, and massage your breasts in the shower. Then massage as you pump, paying special attention to where you feel the lumps--could be a clogged duct.
Maybe pump for a bit longer than usual too--if you typically do 15 mins, up it to pump for 20 mins or so.

How long do you pump for? I pumped for 30 minutes and I got a second let down that let me empty out

everything listed above is what has helped me. use the heating pad (or go in shower) just before and pumping and massage while pumping.

This worked well for me too.

massage the crap out of your boobs when you are pumping and constantly manually extract them in the sink in the shower whenever you have a sec .... nursing really is the ultimate relief
