Suggestions for taking DC to the city

DH will be traveling into the city for training starting the end of this month, and would like to go in one weekend before to "map out" where he'll be...

We are thinking of taking our 3yr old DS for the day, we'll prob hit Mars 2112 for dinner, since I know he'll think its alot of fun.

Any suggestions, must do's or donts?

Is Mars2112 still open?

Are you taking the train? I'd go to Times Square, or to Central Park. Really stay in Midtown with him, I think he would like that.

My parents live WAAYYYY uptown, but they have taken Christopher to the Central Park Zoo and loved it.

Maybe it moved then, b/c I thought I saw it was closed by my old office. Cool though! Because I don't think things like the All Star Cafe would be fun for him yet.

Does he still go in a stroller at all? B/c he may get tired.

Central Park is fun. There is an amusement park all summer at Wollman Rink . Victorian Gardens is what it's called and Belvedere Castle is also neat. We love the World of Disney Store, they have character meet n greets and NCY/Disney Potato Head parts. Also Build a Bear is fun and HUGE!

We just came back from a day in the city - I was not impressed with FAO Schwartz (when did they take down the big clock Chat Icon )

The characters at the Disney Store was a big hit with DD! If it's during the day, a nice walk through Central Park and a ride on the carousel is fun!

M & M store and Disney are big favorites for Kiera. You could do the children's museum if you need something indoors-but that is not near Times Square.

FAO Schwartz. My daughter flipped out when we were there. Completely fabulous for the 3 year olds!
