suggestions for unpretentious bars-Upper East/West side...

please take pity on someone who shared her birthday with the snowpocalypse this week and give me your bar suggestions!

going out with friends Saturday night starting out at Iggy's Karaoke on 2nd Avenue and 76th Street. I love that place, but it gets super crowded in there after a while so hoping to head elsewhere as the night wears on....

any recommendations for bars with a good dj (but not a club) that's low on the douche bag factor? I used to love Saloon (originally Madison's) but we went there last year, and it was like frat boy hell (but the dj still rocks!)...I just turned 31 so I think my tolerance level for college idiots will have only further decreased this year!

any help is much appreciated!! We don't have to stick with UES/UWS either, we might head downtown after Iggy's, TIA!

American Trash is on the UES and its chill...frat boy level is nil. Divey, all rock music.

Doc Watsons is also on the UES...not divey, typical pub, good mix of music, low level of frat boys. Food is yummy.

Four Faced Liar in the West Village is a go-to for me, too. No food there, only downfall, but they don't mind if you have pizza delivered LOL. Great music, good amount of buybacks.
