Suggestions on giveaways at a pizzeria grand opening
A friend of mine is having a pizzeria grand opening and asked what kind of giveaway could they give out?
I could only come up with pens or keychains.
Any other suggstions (websites?)?

Coupons for Pizza & 2 liter soda, Pizza & Hero Sandwich, 10% off order, etc...

I would definitely do some type of coupon, as that will bring customers back.
Maybe also do some type of food giveaway, to show off something people may not have as part of their order (e.g., garlic knots).
Maybe they could also do a raffle for a larger item -- for every $5 of your order, you get one entry to win the prize.
I like the magnet idea - people can put it on their fridge and have the restaurant name and number right there when they want to order in. (Assuming the restaurant does delivery and/or carry out.)

I went to one a while ago they had customized scratch-offs- customers got to scratch off the card just like a lottery ticket- you can do a couple free sodas, slices, 1/2 off a pie, etc.

I thought of the magnet, but I wanted to have the calendar attached too, but I think they'll going to do the grand opening in March and I thought it would be silly/late to give out calendars in March.

I'm not a big fan of the calendar with it. I probably wouldn't hang a calendar on my fridge but I would hang a magnet of the local pizza shop that I liked

How does the Pizza taste?
I suggest someone stands outside the Pizzeria give small pizza slices out to the customers shopping in the complex or walk to a busy area near by. And say we just opened and I would like to invite you and your family to come by and give us a try...
Something like you would find Costco doing... With those sample tables...

i don't think a calendar is necessary on a magnet. if i were going to a grand opening i'd totally be looking for snack scraps and coupons!

this is what I do! I own my own promo products biz... some suggestions- besides the magnet, which I do like..
pizza cutter (you can actually get these for a pretty decent price)
you can do a magnet shaped like a pizza with the phone number on it (and website, if they have one) and then maybe some important numbers for the town too- like police department & fire department- other essentials- to limit the chance that people will throw it away.
One of those pop-up sponges.
along the lines of magnet do one of those pads with the magnet on the back.. that you keep on the fridge for lists.. each page will have the company name, contact info- and then in half tones on the back the logo or piece of pizza, etc.
or you can do a pizza stress reliever!!!
