Re: Summer Camps
For what age?
Some of them are a fortune, but I've found a few that are reasonable.
World Gym Coram & Setauket, YMCA in Holtsville (not sure how it is though), Baiting Hollow Scout Camp (SUPER CHEAP and Free before/after care..it's a drive though), Girl Scout Camp in Bayport (they have co-ed camps), Suffolk County Farm Camp, Town of Brookhaven regeneration program (FREE, but kids must go home for lunch though).

Re: Summer Camps
YMCA my son use to go there and he loved it. However they are expensive but at the time I was a single parent and I qualified for a scholar ship so I only had to pay 50% as to the entire payment.

I'm not sure which YMCA you go to, but the Brookhaven one is oly around $250 a week for camp, which is really cheap as far as camp goes. "Fancy" camp runs around $400-600 a week!

Re: Summer Camps
As a child I went to Brookhaven Country Day Camp- I also worked there as a camp counselor... I LOVED it on both sides!
Laurel Hill Camp is in Setauket- I worked there also- it is a good camp also, but i liked Brookhaven better...

Re: Summer Camps
I used to be a camp counselor at the YMCA in Bayshore... it's a great camp but being as I worked there I also know that the employees get paid like close to nothing and most of them don't really want to be there cause their kids (16-18) years old and wanna hang out with other counselors. I enjoyed working there because it was like a family but I feel that some of the staff was way to immature to care for my own child

Re: Summer Camps
Young Peoples Day Camp is fairly reasonable..I forget how much exactly...BUT my girls hated it there..I didnt see anything wrong with it but they have forbidden me from EVER sending them back there...They liked the Adventure Camp that used to (might still be) offered through the town of Huntington.
