Sunblock

What age did you start using sunblock? DD is 6 weeks and we have been outside a lot. Did you use on just the face or all over?

On the package it says before 6 months consult a doctor, most doctor's say 6 months, my friend just went to her ped and her son is 4 months and the ped said its okay to use now.

Everyone I know says not until 6 months. We didn't have the need for it before then. We're going to FL this week but she's 7 months.
I would just call your ped. He'll probably say to cover her as much as possible at 6 weeks and say no to the sunblock but I could be wrong.

One reason is sensitive skin and the other is Dr's don't want people to assume that if they put the sunblock on, their infant is protected from the rays of the sun.

my son is 4.5 months and we live in florida ..dr told us last week no sunblock until 6 months..cover him as much as possible..


its a chemical and it gets into their pores right now which is no good..

i may even wait longer then that..

went to Seaworld last wkend and just covered him up with a light blanket..rather him sweat then have sunburn

Dr. told us no sunblock until 6 mos just to keep him covered.

No sunblock until 6 months. When you do use it, don't put it on their hands because they put their hands in their mouths.
