"Sun"day anyone? early dismissal?
Here in NJ we have today off! We were SHOCKED! We never got our snow days back (our district can be VERY stingy like that- luckily we're in contract negotiations and will work that into our contract this time). My school is about 98% AC'd so we didn't have a problem, but the middle school and high schools are less fortunate. My friend's son at the middle school said he was going from one room with out AC - a virtual hotbox- to a room frigid as hell. How horrible is that? How did the kids even get by?
I was about the only one slightly frustrated by having the day off... I know, smack me. I have a big concert next week and I gotta get 5th grades ready for their graduation songs- so I'm missing their classes today!

 for a sun day- go to the beach 
However, I was thinking that this is such a crucial time for test prep, and in your case, concert prep, no one can afford a day off!
 to all those teaching today!!!!

it is so disgusting in the school. i need to go home and shower. I am so sticky. yuck.
I run the school store and we have a slushie machine. It is so hot the slushies aren't slushing.

I took today off. My school is about 80 years old, only the offices and computer rooms have a/c and I have wicked morning sickness. I was like "eff this" when I got up this morning.

It's like torture in our bldg and no one is being productive because we can't think straight in the heat... I hope it breaks tomorrow!
