sunken meadow state park...
is there a boardwalk here? is there a playground? i want somewhere i can take DD and walk....jones is to far

there is a boardwalk and a brand new GINORMOUS playground (my new fave to take DS too).
THere are two smaller/older playgrounds also.

When you go in the booth, just keep going straight until you cant go anymore (youll cross over a little bridge, its after that)....go into the parking lot on your right.
To get the boardwalk, walk through the brick building striaght ahead of the parking lot. The playground is to the right of the same parking lot.

you might, you used to not have to until Memorial day, but I hear that NYS now charges fees earlier to make up for budget shortfalls.

LOL. If you get an empire state pass, you still have to pay for that. So its not really free, LOL. Although the passport is only $65, so depending on how often you use it, it could pay off.

we go to the park normally everyday so now i have more of a selection...and i want to walk the boardwalk everyday so its def better off this way

Also when they do start charging, I know in the past after 4pm during the week and 6pm on weekends it was free to go in. I used to take DS all the time after 4 just to walk the boardwalk!
Let us know sometime when you want to go, we could meet you there!

I know I went to Heckscher about a week ago and I didn't have to pay, it said the fee was weekends only.

I think you have to pay as of April 1st. I went there a few weeks ago & had to pay (I bought my Empire Pass.)

When did they build it? I do not remember seeing it last Fall? Is it at the first field or second?
