Sunscreen for infants
Did any of you moms put sunscreen on your infants - under 6months. If not and you have another child how did you cope during the summer months?
TIA

Re: Sunscreen for infants
I think most parents are told not to put any screen on children under 6 months.
I always keep DD covered or in the shade.
Now if you have another child and they are on the go, I am not sure what you would do. I would still keep my younger one in the shade and lather up the older one with sunscreen

I was also told not to before 6 months. He was always under the umbrella.

Re: Sunscreen for infants
Thats what I am afraid of. I didnt put sunscreen on DD until she was 7mths but now that we are thinking about #2 I am thinking i am going to have a nightmare summer trying to watch future child FC in the shade while DD runs riot on the beach....maybe I should bite the bullet and have a winter baby!

Re: Sunscreen for infants
I was always told and this is what I do.
If they are 6 months and older, they always have sunscreen on. When they were less than 6 months old, I usually keep them under an umbrella or pop up tent, but if they are going to be in direct sun, getting a sunburn is NOT an option, so I will put sunscreen on them.

Same for me. Both my girls had sunscreen and bug spray on under 6 months old. Rather be safe than sorry. I have 2 warm weather babies.

Re: Sunscreen for infants
I took DD out to the pool all summer on weekends - our ped said no sunscreen at that time so I was careful about where she was - she was always either in her stroller under the sun cover and in the shade or in our arms under and umbrella or under and awning so she was never in the sun.
