Support System
I have a friend who is also trying to lose weight. We have been very open and honest with each other about our desire to drop the pounds finally. But why oh why when you know that we are trying to lose weight would you buy me a GIANT st. pattys day CUPCAKE? I've been noticing alot lately that she's been the opposite of supportive. Suggesting lunches and snacks that aren't what we should be eating Anyone have any suggestions on how to approach this topic without seeming rude or ungreatful? And suggestions on how I can turn her down and stay strong?

Re: Support System
Wanting to lose weight and admitting to that is a lot easier than actually doing it. I know myself I want to lose weight but I don't always make the best food choices.
Your friend may need you to be the strong to be her support system. She may find it hard to give up the unhealthy lunches and snacks along the way. She probably likes a partner in crime because she won't feel as guilty if you eat it too.
I had a friend like yours after we went to the gym she would suggest we go for ice cream or to McDonalds. I told her I didn't run for 2 hours to waste all my hard work at carvel. I was honest with her I told her getting healthy and feeling good about myself were important to me and her constant offers of drive thru dinners and ice cream as rewards for going to the gym were not appreciated. She said she really wanted these things but me saying no to them made her feel like she couldn't have them either but if I were to say yes it would be okay to have them. It's an odd rationalization but that was what she thought.
Good luck and congrats on being a strong support system

Re: Support System
I have a friend who does the same.
We have dinner together a few times a month. I told her I was trying to count calories and ordered off the healthy menu at chilis (the guiltless grill chicken sandwich is about 400 cals incl. sides) and she decides that she doesn't feel like being good and orders the chips and salsa for the table.
My favorite snack in the world is tortilla chips, and with them right in front of my face I couldn't resist picking on them.
She does this often. It's annoying. But I guess my own lack of will power is to blame.

Re: Support System
I would suggest looking into getting a new weight loss buddy. Seems like she is not in the same mind set as you and she is trying to sabotage your efforts. I would NEVER in a million years bring my WW buddy a cupcake unless it was WW approved .
