surgery and school question

My son is having his tonsils/adenoids out next Tuesday, the 16th. He goes to school Tues/Thurs for 2 1/2 hours. School is closed this Thurs, even though I wouldn't have sent him anyway because it's too close to the surgery. But what about this Tuesday...do you think I should send him or keep him home? I just want him to stay healthy before the surgery. What would you do?

If he loves school I'd send him. He is going to be stuck at home for so long after, let him have some fun now.

I don't think I'd send him. My dd had surgery last year, it's extremely important that they are not sick when they go in. There are so many germs in school right now. My dd has had a bad cough/runny nose for almost 2 weeks now. I kept her home for a few days but every time she goes into school I feel she comes home with some other kind of sickness.
