I'm super picky living in Manhattan but when I go home to my parents, we go to Jani in Wantagh for chinese/sushi. I actually like their sushi and I refuse to eat at Tai Show, for example.

i've eaten there, it is ok for a spicy tuna roll or sushi pieces but I am looking for some good specialty rolls

Sapporo in Wantagh on Merrick Rd is really good.
So is Koban in Merrick on Merrick Road.
I've heard Sushi Time 360 in Bethpage is good too.

I really like Minami in Massapequa. I'm obsessed with their freedom roll. It sounds gross but fried banana in sushi is genius.

I second this, I believe Central Ave, it's down the block from the library across the street from that bridal place.

Sushi time 560 is awesome. its like $20 a person and you check off on a list of what you want and they just keep bringing you fresh sushi, soups appetizers and hot foods. There is specialty sushi on the menu as well as your basic stuff. everything is very fresh and made to order. a great place to go with people cause its a set price. oh and the best part its BYOB there is a liquor store at the end of the shopping center

Kiku is good! We've also been ordering from Kandu in Bellmore and its tasty. Their menus have a 20% off your order coupon on the back of them, and they give you a new menu every time!
