Swaddle at night?
Is it safe to swaddle him at night while we sleep? Im so afraid he will wiggle out of it? Especially b/c he likes his arms out of it.
I am using a receiving blanket because I cannt figure out the miracle blanket ( looks like a big mess of too much fabric and I cant find the swaddle me, although I know I have it somewhere )

Re: Swaddle at night?
my dd was like houdini wtih the swaddle...we would swaddle her and in 2 seconds flat, she would break out of it...we used that as a sign that she did not like to be swaddled

Re: Swaddle at night?
I used the receiving blanket in the beginning with arms in. I thought she didn't like her arms in either, but once I noticed she would wake herself up with her own hands my ped said to try it. She loved it!!!
I eventually had to switch to the miracle blanket because the receiving blankets were to small and she could easily break out. I swaddled until she was 5 1/2 months old
Did I even answer your question

Same here! Not all babies like to be swaddled. Try not doing it and see how he is.

Re: Swaddle at night?
Totally safe.
Andy LOVED the miracle blanket. It was a little overwhelming at first and DH never got the hang of it. I used to practice on a teddy bear until I figured it out.

Re: Swaddle at night?
We swaddled DD while still at hospital but once we got her home she seemed to HATE it. One time she wanted her arms out so bad she got it through the neck of her shirt. So we just don't swaddle her anymore I just tuck the blanket into each side of the mattress to cover her bottom half.
It is safe!!!

Re: Swaddle at night?
I always did it tight and she couldn't break out until she was around a month and then I switched to the miracle blanket.
I think the miracle blanket is great - as PP suggested try it on a teddy bear.

Re: Swaddle at night?
You have to try to figure out the Miracle Blanket. It was a lifesaver for us with both kids, they slept through the night at eight weeks and five weeks!
The Miracle Blanket is the only thing that kept them swaddled, a regular receiving blanket only worked for like the first week!

Bella slept swaddled in some way for almost EIGHT months...she was fine she even had a little divet in the mattress from her head being in one spot...

Re: Swaddle at night?
Did you watch the demo online for the Miracle Blanket? It was easier to do when I did it along with the demo.
Logan breaks free of regular blankets and the swaddle me now. (I can hear the subtle sound of velcro being ripped open via the monitor.)
I'm too afriad that with his tendency to flail about he'll kick the blanket up over his face.
The Miracle Blanket is the only thing he can't get out of.

Re: Swaddle at night?
The nurses swaddled Charlie in the hospital at night so I assumed it was safe.

Re: Swaddle at night?
I use the Swaddle Me every night---DC loves it! Sometimes in the morning I find him with his arms out---but that is okay.
Read "The Happiest Baby on the Block" and you will see all the benefits of swaddling
