Swaddle Weaning-Pacifier/waking nightmare
So we have been trying to wean Bella from the swaddle, she is six months old today and we felt it was time...
One arm out went great, did that for a week and then started both arms out last Friday.
NOW... Where she once went down wide awake with a kiss, she still does...but now that she has hands to pull the pacifier out and play until she wants to actually drift off we have 15 minutes of full out screaming (which she has never done) until we go in and give her the pacifier and then she is out for the night (this has been the past three nights)...
And where she was getting up at 7:30 am...she is now getting up at 5:30-5:45 and being UP. Dh and I try to leave her in the crib until 7, because if she eats before 7, her whole eating schedule is messed up. AS it is, her whole napping schedule is jacked and I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but her mediocre daycare sleeping is now barely nonexistent.
Bella is the most pleasant and happy baby unless she does not get enough sleep. Should we just go back to swaddling for awhile? I just don't want to be swaddling her in high school When is it too old to be swaddled? I am afraid that soon enough she is going to become and overtired crankypants...
Help!

Re: Swaddle Weaning-Pacifier/waking nightmare
When we stopped swaddling, we ended up taking away the pacifier as well two weeks later -- we decided it was causing more trouble... I'm not sure if thats the case with you, but something to consider...

It IS becoming a problem...and it never was...I just am afraid to take it away before she starts teething badly...I had planned to wean her at around 11-12 months.....

We're still swaddling. I know a lot of people who did it well into 8-9 months.

Re: Swaddle Weaning-Pacifier/waking nightmare
OH NO! ......I had (sometimes still have) the same problem. He loves playing with his pacifier! I always put him to bed already sleeping (bad I know, but he falls asleep while nursing) so he isn't able to pull it out of his mouth. naps are a different story though . I think taking the pacifier away will make it even worse .
I have the same thing with him waking up eariler too. He used to get up about 8-9 now it's 6:30-7:30, not sure why this happens
When you need to vent, let me know
