Swaddles, blankets, bibs

Sooo I got a lot of Swaddle type things and was wondering if I'm really going to need them all. This is what I got:

6 receiving blankets
3 blankets

4 Aden and Anais swaddles (definitely keeping these)
2 halo sleepsacks
5 Swaddle me (Kiddopatamus)
1 wearable blanket

I'm starting to wash stuff, so I'm thinking I'll definitely keep the Aden and Anais and blankets, but should I maybe hold off on opening the sleepsacks and swaddle me? Thoughts?

I also got 23 bibs
3 burp cloths
20 washclothes
4 hooded towels

Do I need more of anything or should I return anything? TIA

I would hold off opening the swaddle me and sleepsacks to see what your LO likes.

I only received a few burp cloths at my shower and went out and bought more. I was told by a lot of BTDT moms that you need a bunch of them and bibs.

i received a ton a bibs in different sizes and i kept all of them but i've been using burp cloths a lot more. so im thinking you might need more burp cloths.

and i havent swaddled DD since she was born. she likes to keep her arms out and she kicks off any blanket we put on her. so i havent used any swaddle blankets at all.

Re: Swaddles, blankets, bibs

imo aden & anais are the only swaddles you need.

you can return a package of washclothes and a towel but you might want to keep them

you are definately going to need more burp clothes and probably more bibs

i got 60 bibs and basically have gone through all of them.

I was told just to get cloth diapers as burp cloths. They might be your most affordable bet.

so did i lol but it is amazing how many you go through!!!! i would pick up a big pack that comes with 10-12 that should be good on top of what you have

honestly i would hold off buying burpclothes for now only because you might be able to take a bunch from the hospital and you might be able to even use the receiving blankets from the hospital too

yup they are my favorite type and you wont have to get to many of them since they can last you a day or two depending on if your LO is a huge spitter upper and these are the ones the hospital uses

Re: Swaddles, blankets, bibs

im no help on teh swaddles because i got some at my shower but havent used them yet. DS is always so hot so i dont put him in them yet.

as for bibs, i go through a ton! i probably have about 30. burp clothes i had only gotten 3 so i went out and bought 8 more (although theywere a different type). DS had a bout of spitting up a lot so i used them a lot.

Re: Swaddles, blankets, bibs

Bibs, wash cloths and towels yes! I got like 30 of each and I use them all! If the bibs are mostly short ones you may want to get some long ones. When they start eating solids the food gets all over the place. You may need more burp cloths.

As for the blanks you will def. use them. I don't know about all the other things. I got the swaddlers and used it once DS hated it. I got a sleep sack and he didn't really like that either. Each baby is different. You can keep them and wait to open them. Or keep one of each and if your LO likes something you can stock up.

Re: Swaddles, blankets, bibs

i'd hold off on opening/washing the swaddlemes bc i never used mine for DD, the only thing we've used is the A&As which are awesome.
