Swaddling issues

So I'm up at 2:55 am because we tried to stop swaddling DD because she grew out of her snug nest and DH is petrified that if we swaddle her she may roll over and not be able to stop her self from suffocating... well, she is DEFINITELY not ready to be unswaddled... she keeps flaling her arms and legs and waking herself up and is DH up...um NO... I am... so I'm about to swaddle her again... but now I'm a little worried... DD isnt rolling over yet, but even if she was, would swaddling be unsafe?

Re: Swaddling issues

I stopped swaddling DD when she was 3 months old b/c she was flailing her arms and legs right out anyway, even those velcro ones couldn't keep her in, lol. If your DD can't roll over on her own I don't see why you can't attempt to swaddle her... how is she going to suffocate herself without rolling? How old is your DD?

Re: Swaddling issues

we swaddled until 5 months old. are you using the miracle blanket? DS was waking up and needed to be reswaddled to calm down, so he was totally dependent on it. since he was old enough i did CIO. now we are happily swaddle free.

So I ended up swaddling her and she slept great! I guess she's just not ready to be unswaddled yet

MIRACLE BLANKET all the way.

Bella was a swaddler, she fought being weaned until she was like 8 months old. I posted many times concerned she was too old...she is just fineChat Icon and slept through the night at 3 1/2 months...

There was even a divet in her mattress from her headChat Icon

Re: Swaddling issues

I agree - use the Miracle Blanket. It is good for even when your DD gets bigger.
