Swelling this early? Is this normal?
My feet look like Fred Flinstone! They are burning and cant fit into most shoes! I am only 15 weeks and when I called the DR's office, the nurse told me that unless I was experiencing headaches and blurred vision, there was nothing to worry about. I was told to elevate them as much as possible and to wear support hose...not to be vain, but how does one wear these with capris or open toed shoes? I am a teacher and there is no A/C, so I am dressing as light as possible.
I am not adding salt to my food, and my BP is normal. I don't get it~

Re: Swelling this early? Is this normal?
I had alot of swelling early on too, and I carried twins also. By April the only shoes that would fit me were flip flops. I think by April I was about 15 weeks also. (Can't remember though). Good Luck!!!!

Re: Swelling this early? Is this normal?
Well, if you are a teacher, my guess is, like me, you are on your feet a lot during the day. This will definitely contribute to swelling. And I have news for you, those stupid stockings don't work! Nothign really helps my swelling during the day. The only thing that REALLY helps is either laying on my left side for a long time, like overnight, or when I get home from work, I lay on the bed, put my butt up against the wall and extend my feet straight up the wall for all the fluid to drain out. HTH!

They say to lay on your left side and they also say to keep your legs elevated. I can't elevate on my side...it bothers the bottom leg. Can I lay on my back and elevate?

Re: Swelling this early? Is this normal?
I just bought wide shoes and they are still too tight! I called the dr and they said that if I am not getting headaches or blurred vision, there is nothing to worry about. It just feels and looks horrible!

Re: Swelling this early? Is this normal?
I had a small amount of swelling. With the warmer weather coming it's bound to get worse before it gets better. Try to elevate your feet as much as possible and drink plenty of water.
