swimming/gymnastics in the commack area
We are moving from Bayside to Commack in September- DS will be 16 months old. This summer we are doing Music Together and a My Gym class and he LOVES it! I was hoping to continue with some classes come the fall. HOw is Saf-T-Swim compared to All Pro Swim? I would like to do swimming this fall, we tried it at 8 months and it was an epic fail. He likes music, but LOVES gymnastics. How is The Little Gym in Smithtown? Any other suggestions for a 16 month old? I am a SAHM and DH works long hours so I try to keep the 2 of us busy as many days as possible. How about open play places or other fun things to do with a toddler once cold weather sets in? TIA!

swimming/gymnastics in the commack area
I'd recommend the swim school at NYSC at The Arches in Deer Park over Safe-T-Swim at the NYSC in Commack on Jericho Tpke.
We've only been to The Little Gym for a LIF GTG and it was nice.
Maybe Tumbling Tunes in East Northport for that age?

A brand new Gold Medal Gymnastics just opened in Smithtown on Jericho Tpke. We haven't joined yet but my down the road. I heard it is really nice. They renovated a huge furniture store.

We do swimming at the Y in huntington. So far I like it better than saf t swim in commack. there's a livingsocial deal for gold medal. I think it expires in 3 days. We like Hop N Bop for open play. There's usually a $2 off coupon in clipper magazine.

I live in the commack area and have a 14 m old! We can meet up!!
With DS1 I did Music together (totmusic.net) and really enjoyed it. I plan to sign DS2 up in the fall. The library has a One is fun program which is free and a cute thing.
I do Safe T Swim with DS1 and am very happy with it. He is doing well (He used to take swim at hte Y in Hungtington) and I plan to do DS2 in the spring.
THe Y in huntington has some really nice programs, its a 20 m ride but if you want to do a few things over the course of a year for relatively little $ then its a good option.
DS1 at that age did a mommy & me class at Flips in Smithtown.
There is also Tumbling Tunes in East Northport, There is a Sports place in Northport (I can't think of hte name but its on 25A and its somewhat new). DS1 also did a class at Sport TIme in Kings Park, I think he was just under 2 at the time.
THere is also a Gymboree in St James.
I can also introduce you to a pretty good playgroup if you are interested as well!!
I too am a SAHM and my DS1 will be in K this fall!
ETA: I heard mixed things about Little gym...I never joined bc its kinda pricy and like I said some of my friends werent crazy about it!

My sister loves Saf T Swim in Commack.
We use the Huntington Y and thins it's great (especially for the price!)
We have been going to Gold Medal Huntington for years and they are great. My coworker lives in hauppauge and goes to the Huntington Gold Medal.
