switch REs? Recommendation for NYC needed
So far my wife and I have had 2 cycles of IUI.
Both were done at Cornell/New York Presbyterian (http://www.ivf.org/welcome.html)
Some minor things have been making me feel iffy about the place: 1. They seem unorganized. We were scheduled for IUI and I had to ask whether we needed to abstain before the IUI (no directions were ever given). First we heard "No" then someone else said "2 days". 2. They take blood in the morning, then say they will call to let us know whether to come in for the IUI or for another blood test - they constantly do not call, and my wife has to call them to followup. 3. The HCG trigger shot. From reading here, it seems most of you get it 36 to 40 hours before the IUI. They only do trigger shots from 7:30 to 9am, and IUIs from 9 to 12pm. So thats about 27 hours only. (at most)
Not sure whether we should give them another chance...my wife likes the place because: 1. Its in her insurance (not the lab/iui part, but the doctors visits) 2. She says because its a big hospital, they have the latest technology and so on
Can you all recommend some other REs in Manhattan. (or give your experiences with Cornell Weil, if you have any, if you feel more comfortable doing FM, thats cool too.)
We've both been tested and everything is "normal" For both IUIs, she was on Clomid, 1 pill a day (I think its 50mg) I just found out (from reading here) that Clomid could thin the uterine lining which makes getting pregnant harder, the doctor never told us that.
Thank you

I used Columbia and so did my sister. Loved it there. SOme will say it feels like a factory but I look at it as they are organized.
I never waited long and always got my phone calls for blood work or if I had a question for the Dr returned that day. Blood work calls are always done btw 3-5 I think....once I got it by 3 the other time I had to wait til closer to 5pm. Staff was always very nice.
They are right at COlumbus Circle

I loved RMA of NY. I never experienced any of the issues you talked about. They always gave me directions before I left the offfice. And always called with results/instructions.
I always gave myself the trigger and my IUIs were about 36 hours later...resulting in my !
