Switching pediatricians at 1 year. (question)

I've been wanting to switch ever since she was 6 months but stuck it out and went to her 9 month appointment b/c I did like the doctor (even thought he ONLY spoke to DD... if you remember from a previous post Chat Icon). Every well check appointment takes AT LEAST 2.5 hours start to finish and I felt like we were rushed once we did see the dr.

Now that her 1 year is coming up, I finally was able to do some research today online and I made an appointment with a ped's office with only 2 doctors (great reviews). The person who answered the phone was amazingly nice so that's a good start!

Did anyone switch ped's at 1 year? Did you interview the ped first or just go to your first appointment?

Im about to switch now at age 3.

While in hospital, met a ped who was awesome n did some research and so far hes great n so is staff. So the boys are going there...then G will too.

Luckily G is one of those kids that sees doc once a yr at her annual visits so no rush right now either.

I need to switch because we are moving-- and was wondering about this as well. I figured, I would get some reccos from friends in the area, and just go... I don't have time to go to a Ped to just interview them at this point, plus you are bringing your DC to the office where there will be sick kids, etc. No need to bring them unless they actually have an appt, ya know?

You can always set up a "well visit", and if you don't like-- switch for next time.

I recently switched because of an insurance change, and we talked with people who recommended the office and we just made an appt. and went for their well visits. We were very happy.
